## Abstract

The present invention provides a board mountable system for filming underwater video. The inventive board mountable system can be mounted to the underside of water vehicles for incorporating a camera for filming from an underwater perspective. The inventive board mountable system is shaped to minimize drag as a result of the mounted camera or camera system. Embodiments of the inventive system includes a fin shaped housing for holding a camera or camera system. In certain embodiments, the fin is removably attached to the water vehicle, such as a surf board, where the fin housing can be swapped with other fins being used with the water vehicle for controlling the direction of a watersports board in motion. These embodiments of the inventive system further include a connection means for connecting the fin to the underside of a water vessel.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An apparatus for connecting to the underside of a watersports board, the apparatus comprising:
a fin having a proximal end, a distal end, two sides and a void within;
a housing within said void for holding a camera or camera system; and
a fin connection means for connecting the apparatus to the underside of a water vessel.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said housing has an open position, a closed position, and a latch for locking the housing into the closed position wherein the closed position seals the housing.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The apparatus of claim 2, wherein said housing contains a removably mounted camera within the housing.

### Claim 4 (depends on 2)

The apparatus of claim 2, wherein said housing further comprises a hinge mounted in between the camera and the housing such that the camera can rotate.

### Claim 5 (depends on 2)

The apparatus of claim 2, wherein said housing further comprises a means to keep the entire system waterproof

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the camera system further comprises a computer processing unit, a power supply, and data storage drive can fit into the compartment.

### Claim 7 (depends on 10)

The apparatus of claim 10, wherein the fin further comprises a charging port near the proximal end.

### Claim 8

A system for recording underwater images, the system comprising:
a board that floats on water, having a top and bottom;
a fin, having a proximal end and a distal end, the proximal end removably attached to the bottom of the board, such that the fin is positioned perpendicularly to the board; and
a camera lens mounted within the distal end of the fin.

### Claim 9

A housing system for holding a camera for the connection to a fin of a water vessel, the housing system comprising:
a housing, said housing being water tight and suitable for holding at least one camera;
a housing assembly for holding the housing; and
a housing connection means for interfacing with a fin on a water vessel, said connection means being part of the housing assembly.
