## Abstract

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a first computing device having a controller to present an avatar having characteristics that correlate to a user profile and that conform to operating characteristics of the first computing device, and transmit to a second computing device operational information associated with the avatar for reproducing at least in part the avatar at said second computing device. Other embodiments are disclosed.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A device, comprising:
a processing system including a processor; and
a memory that stores executable instructions that, when executed by the processing system, facilitate performance of operations, comprising:
detecting a first computing device that is presenting a first avatar having characteristics that correlate to a user profile;
detecting presence of a second computing device;
establishing a wireless communication session, for presenting a second avatar, between the processing system and the second computing device; and
detecting a presentation of the second avatar on the second computing device, wherein the second computing device generates the second avatar at the second computing device, wherein generating of the second avatar by the second computing device includes adapting characteristics of the first avatar by the second computing device using presentation resources of the second computing device.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the presentation resources comprises tactile presentation resources.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the operations comprise receiving user-generated voice input, wherein the detecting of the presence of the second computing device comprises detecting the presence of the second computing device according to the user-generated voice input.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the detecting of the presence of the second computing device comprises detecting the presence of the second computing device in response to detecting a wireless connection to the second computing device.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The device of claim 4, wherein the wireless connection is one of a cellular connection, WiFi connection, or a Bluetooth connection.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the first computing device is one of a desktop computer, laptop computer, office computer, IMS phone, VoIP phone, home appliance, set top box, digital video recorder, media player, or mobile phone, and wherein the second computing device is one of a desktop computer, laptop computer, office computer, IMS phone, VoIP phone, home appliance, set top box, digital video recorder, media player, or mobile phone.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1, wherein the operations comprise transmitting operational information associated with the first avatar to the second computing device, wherein the generating of the second avatar by the second computing device comprises the second computing device generating the second avatar according to the operational information and the presentation resources of the second computing device.

### Claim 8

A non-transitory computer-readable storage device, comprising executable instructions which when executed by a processing system including a processor, facilitate performance of operations comprising:
detecting a first computing device that is presenting a first avatar having characteristics that correlate to a user profile;
receiving user-generated voice input;
detecting presence of a second computing device according to the user-generated voice input;
establishing a wireless communication session, for presenting a second avatar, between the processing system and the second computing device; and
detecting a presentation of the second avatar on the second computing device, wherein the second computing device generates the presentation of the second avatar at the second computing device, wherein generating of the second avatar by the second computing device includes adapting characteristics of the first avatar by the second computing device using presentation resources of the second computing device.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of claim 8, wherein the presentation resources comprises tactile presentation resources.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of claim 8, wherein wireless communication session comprise a wireless connection, wherein the wireless connection is one of a cellular connection, WiFi connection, or a Bluetooth connection.

### Claim 11 (depends on 8)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of claim 8, wherein the first computing device is one of a desktop computer, laptop computer, office computer, IMS phone, VoIP phone, home appliance, set top box, digital video recorder, media player, or mobile phone, and wherein the second computing device is one of a desktop computer, laptop computer, office computer, IMS phone, VoIP phone, home appliance, set top box, digital video recorder, media player, or mobile phone.

### Claim 12 (depends on 8)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of claim 8, wherein the operations comprise transmitting operational information associated with the first avatar to the second computing device.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage device of claim 12, wherein the generating of the second avatar by the second computing device comprises the second computing device generating the second avatar according to the operational information and the presentation resources of the second computing device.

### Claim 14

A method, comprising:
detecting, by a processing system including a processor, a first computing device that is presenting a first avatar having characteristics that correlate to a user profile;
detecting, by the processing system, presence of a second computing device;
establishing, by the processing system, a wireless communication session, for presenting a second avatar, between the processing system and the second computing device;
transmitting, by the processing system, operational information associated with the first avatar to the second computing device; and
detecting, by the processing system, a presentation of the second avatar on the second computing device, wherein the second computing device generates the presentation of the second avatar at the second computing device, wherein generating of the second avatar by the second computing device includes adapting characteristics of the first avatar by the second computing device according to the operational information using presentation resources of the second computing device.
