## Abstract

A miniature spectrometer includes an optical system, a polarization interferometer with a polarizer and a Savart element and an analyzer, a detection unit with a detector, and a data unit. The optical system of the miniature spectrometer is configured as a diffuser.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A miniature spectrometer, comprising:
an optical system;
a polarization interferometer that includes a polarizer, a Savart element, and an analyzer;
a detection unit that includes a detector; and
a data unit,
wherein the optical system is configured as a diffuser.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The miniature spectrometer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the detection unit comprises a focusing optical unit that is arranged in the beam path between the polarization interferometer and the detector.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The miniature spectrometer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the miniature spectrometer comprises a light source.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The miniature spectrometer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the diffuser is arranged on the polarizer of the polarization interferometer.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The miniature spectrometer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the data unit comprises a reference database.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The miniature spectrometer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the data unit is configured as a communication interface for data transmission between the miniature spectrometer and an external evaluation element that includes a reference database and a data processing unit.

### Claim 7 (depends on 1)

The miniature spectrometer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the detector is in the form of a one-dimensional sensor matrix.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The miniature spectrometer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the detector is in the form of a two-dimensional sensor matrix.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The miniature spectrometer as claimed in claim 1, wherein the optical system is a directional diffuser.

### Claim 10

A method for ascertaining a spectrum of the radiation from an object, comprising:
using a miniature spectrometer to ascertain the spectrum of the radiation that is reflected, transmitted, or emitted by the object, the miniature spectrometer including:
an optical system,
a polarization interferometer that includes a polarizer, a Savart element, and an analyzer,
a detection unit that includes a detector, and
a data unit,
wherein the optical system is configured as a diffuser.
