Abstract
This invention relates to an object comprised of a plurality of fused filaments of a polyester material that includes units of a diacid component and units of a glycol component. The co-polyester has a zero shear viscosity no greater than about 3000, an elongation at break of at least about 75%, a density no greater than about 1.25 g/cm3, a glass transition temperature of at least about 80° C., an inherent viscosity from about 0.55 dL/g to about 0.7 dig, a density no greater than about 1.25 g/cm3, and a crystallization half-time no greater than about 300 minutes.
Claims12
An article comprising:
- a plurality of layers of a polymeric material that includes units of a diacid component and units of a glycol component, wherein the units of the diacid component are derived from a first diacid and a second diacid.
An article comprised of fused filament polymer layers arranged in a design, said polymer comprising a polyester having an acid component and a glycol component;
- wherein the acid component comprises repeat units from 30 to 70 mole % terephthalic acid and from 70 to 30 mole % of one or more dibasic acids selected from the group consisting of isophthalic acid, 1,3-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, 1,4 cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid, 1,4-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, 1,5-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, 2,6-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, or 2,7-naphthalenedicarboxylic acid, stilbenedicarboxylic acid, sebacic acid, dimethylmalonic acid, succinic acid, or combinations thereof;
- wherein the glycol component comprises repeat units from 75 to 98 mole % cyclohexanedimethanol and from 2 to 25 mole % glycols selected from the group consisting of ethylene glycol, 1,2-propanediol, 1,3-propanediol, neopentyl glycol, 1,4-butanediol, 1,5-pentanediol, 1,6-hexanediol, p-xylene glycol, 2,2,4,4-tetramethyl-1,3-cyclobutanediol or combinations thereof;
- wherein the total mole % of the acid component is 100 mole % and the total mole % of the glycol component in 100 mole %;
- wherein the polyester has an inherent viscosity of 0.55 dL/g to 0.7 dL/g, a density no greater than about 1.35 g/cm3, a glass transition temperature of 70° C. to 110° C., an elongation at break of at least about 75%, a zero shear viscosity of 1750 to 8000 poise and a crystallization half-time no greater than about 300 minutes.
