Abstract
Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture to provide an update via a satellite connection are disclosed. An example method includes comparing a device identifier of a device identified on a local area network against a whitelist of device identifiers included in an update schedule. In response to (a) detecting that the device identifier of the device is included in the whitelist of device identifiers, (b) identifying a first time indicative of a scheduled broadcast time for the update, and (c) identifying a first broadcast channel associated with the first time, the update identified in the update schedule during the first time is recorded, and is transmitted to the device at a second time after the first time.
Claims20
An apparatus comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory to store machine readable instructions that, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to perform operations including:
- comparing a device identifier of a device identified on a local area network against a whitelist of device identifiers included in an update schedule;
- and
- in response to (a) detecting that the device identifier of the device is included in the whitelist of device identifiers, (b) identifying a first time indicative of a scheduled broadcast time for an update, and (c) identifying a first broadcast channel associated with the first time:
- recording the update identified in the update schedule during the first time, the update received via a broadcast transmission over the first broadcast channel;
- and
- transmitting the update to the device at a second time after the first time.
A tangible machine readable storage disk or storage device comprising instructions which, when executed, cause a machine to perform operations comprising:
- comparing a device identifier of a device identified on a local area network against a whitelist of device identifiers included in an update schedule;
- and
- in response to (a) detecting that the device identifier of the device is included in the whitelist of device identifiers, (b) identifying a first time indicative of a scheduled broadcast time for an update, and (c) identifying a first broadcast channel associated with the first time:
- recording an update identified in the update schedule during the first time, the update received via a broadcast transmission over the first broadcast channel;
- and
- transmitting the update to the device at a second time after the first time.
A method to provide an update, the method comprising:
- comparing, by executing an instruction with the processor, a device identifier of a device identified on a local area network against a whitelist of device identifiers included in an update schedule;
- and
- in response to (a) detecting that the device identifier of the device is included in the whitelist of device identifiers, (b) identifying a first time indicative of a scheduled broadcast time for the update, and (c) identifying a first broadcast channel associated with the first time:
- recording, by executing an instruction with the processor, the update identified in the update schedule during the first time, the update received via a broadcast transmission over the first broadcast channel;
- and
- transmitting, by executing an instruction with the processor, the update to the device at a second time after the first time.
