Systems and Methods for Beacon Location Verification

Tangible, non-transitory computer-readable media having instructions stored therein, wherein the instructions, when executed by one or more processors, causes a computing system to perform functions comprising:

• receiving a first set of one or more messages generated by a mobile terminal, the first set of one or more messages comprising a first indication that the mobile terminal has received a first beacon identifier via a first wireless beacon at a first time, and a second indication comprising a geographic location of the mobile terminal at the first time;
• determining whether the geographic location of the mobile terminal at the first time is within a threshold distance from a first physical location associated with the first beacon identifier received at the first time;
• in response to determining that the geographic location of the mobile terminal at the first time is not within the threshold distance from the first physical location associated with the first beacon identifier, generating a first notification that the geographic location of the mobile terminal at the first time is not within the threshold distance from the first physical location associated with the first beacon identifier;
• and
• in response to determining that the geographic location of the mobile terminal is within the threshold distance from the first physical location associated with the first beacon identifier, generating a second notification that the geographic location of the mobile terminal at the first time is within the threshold distance from the first physical location associated with the first beacon identifier.
