Noise Suppression Filter

A method, implemented in a computing device, the method comprising:

• generating, by a processor of the computing device, a reconstructed image from an encoded video stream;
• filtering, by the processor, the reconstructed image to create a filtered image, the filtering including applying a noise suppression filter to the reconstructed image immediately after applying a deblocking filter to the reconstructed image and immediately prior to applying a sample adaptive offset filter to the reconstructed image;
• and
• storing the filtered image in a picture buffer in memory.

A method, implemented in a computing device, the method comprising:

• generating, by a processor of the computing device, a reconstructed image from an encoded video stream;
• filtering, by the processor, the reconstructed image to create a filtered image, the filtering including applying a noise suppression filter to the reconstructed image immediately after applying a sample adaptive offset filter to the reconstructed image and immediately prior to applying an adaptive loop filter to the reconstructed image;
• and
• storing the filtered image in a picture buffer in memory.

A method, implemented in a computing device, the method comprising:

• generating, by a processor of the computing device, a reconstructed image from an encoded video stream;
• filtering, by the processor, the reconstructed image to create a filtered image, the filtering including applying a noise suppression filter to the reconstructed image immediately after applying an adaptive loop filter to the reconstructed image;
• and
• storing the filtered image in a picture buffer in memory.
