Abstract
Allocating uplink resources based on downlink traffic in a wireless network is provided. The number of sent segments of transport communication protocol (TCP) data may be counted. In response to the count exceeding a value, a message is sent allocating uplink resources to receive an uplink segment and a message acknowledging sent segments of the TCP data.
Claims18
A wireless network comprising:
- circuitry configured to send segments of transport communication protocol (TCP) data to a user equipment (UE) and count a number of the sent segments of TCP data;
- circuitry configured to schedule and send, in response to the count exceeding a predetermined number, a message allocating uplink resources substantially sufficient to receive another message acknowledging a plurality of the sent segments of TCP data.
A method performed by a wireless network, the method comprising:
- sending, by the wireless network, segments of transport communication protocol (TCP) data to a user equipment (UE);
- counting, by the wireless network, a number of the sent segments of TCP data;
- and
- sending, by the wireless network in response to the count exceeding a predetermined number, a message allocating uplink resources by a scheduler substantially sufficient to receive another message acknowledging a plurality of the sent segments of TCP data.

A wireless network comprising:
- a core network comprising circuitry configured to send transport communication protocol (TCP) data to a wireless network device;
- and
- a wireless network device comprising:
- circuitry configured to send segments of the TCP data to a user equipment (UE) and count a number of the sent segments of the TCP data;
- and
- circuitry configured to schedule and send, in response to the count exceeding a predetermined number, a message allocating uplink resources substantially sufficient to receive another message acknowledging a plurality of the sent segments of the TCP data.
