Abstract
Disclosed aspects relate to response status management in a social networking environment. A message from a source user to a recipient user may be detected in the social networking environment. A set of message response actions related to the recipient user may be identified. A response status may be determined based on the set of message response actions. An indication of the response status may be provided to the source user.

A computer-implemented method for response status management in a social networking environment, the method comprising:
- detecting, in the social networking environment, a message from a source user to a recipient user;
- identifying, related to the recipient user, a set of message response actions;
- determining, based on the set of message response actions, a response status;
- and
- providing, to the source user, an indication of the response status.
A system for response status management in a social networking environment, the system comprising:
- a memory having a set of computer readable computer instructions, and
- a processor for executing the set of computer readable instructions, the set of computer readable instructions including:
- detecting, in the social networking environment, a message from a source user to a recipient user;
- identifying, related to the recipient user, a set of message response actions;
- determining, based on the set of message response actions, a response status;
- and
- providing, to the source user, an indication of the response status.
A computer program product for response status management in a social networking environment, the computer program product comprising a computer readable storage medium having program instructions embodied therewith, wherein the computer readable storage medium is not a transitory signal per se, the program instructions executable by a processor to cause the processor to perform a method comprising:
- detecting, in the social networking environment, a message from a source user to a recipient user;
- identifying, related to the recipient user, a set of message response actions;
- determining, based on the set of message response actions, a response status;
- and
- providing, to the source user, an indication of the response status.
