Crowd-sourced automated review of forensic files

A crowd-sourcing server for providing rapid expert review of forensic data files for a plurality of customers using a plurality of independent forensic expert services comprising:

• a logic processor with a memory or storage configured with logic instructions to provide or facilitate:
• a customer interface module for communicating with customers needing rapid expert review of forensic data files not meeting quality criteria for automated analysis;
• a service provider module for communicating with a plurality of forensic experts or forensic expert services providing review of forensic data files;
• a matching module for matching service providers with a data file requiring review and communicating availability of a review job to the selected experts;
• and
• a job management module for receiving bids from service providers for a job, assigning an expert to a job, communicating job details to the expert, confirming that results received from the expert meet job criteria.

A method comprising:

• a) providing to a plurality of forensic service providers, over a communications network, notification of a job to be performed, wherein the job comprises reviewing one or more forensic data files and delivering a forensic result;;
• b) receiving from one or more service providers, over a communications network, a response indicating willingness to perform the job;
• c) selecting a service provider to perform the job based on at least one selection criterion;
• d) providing access to one or more forensic data files, over a communications network, to the selected service provider;
• and
• e) receiving from the selected service provider, over a communications network, a forensic result.

A method comprising:

• a) accessing data regarding one or more of service providers qualified to perform a job, wherein the job comprises completing review of one or more forensic data files ;
• b) selecting one or more service providers to request performance of the job;
• c) providing to one or more selected service providers, over a communications network, notification of the job and optionally access to the original file or other data to complete the job;
• d) receiving from one or more service providers, over a communications network, one or more responses regarding the job;
• e) upon job completion by at least one service provider, taking a further action.

A method comprising:

• a) receiving from a system administrator, over a communications network, notification of a job to be performed, wherein the job comprises delivering a reviewed STR profile computer file to the system administrator;
• b) providing to the system administrator, over a communications network, a response indicating willingness to perform the job;
• c) taking delivery from the system administrator, over a communications network, an STR profile computer file to be reviewed;
• d) reviewing the STR profile computer file to remove at least one flagged item in the STR profile computer file, thereby generating a reviewed STR profile computer file;
• and
• e) delivering to the system administrator, over a communications network, the reviewed STR profile computer file.

A method of performing a biological analysis comprising:

• a) accessing or receiving an automatically generated biological analysis file;
• b) determining that the file requires confirmation or otherwise does not meet quality criteria;
• c) automatically initiating a confirmation for the file;
• d) automatically receiving confirmation results;
• and
• e) transmitting a biological analysis file in accordance with the confirmation results.
