Sensor lifecycle management system

An apparatus comprising:

• a sensor module comprising:
• a sensor;
• and
• a sensor controller to enumerate the sensor to a sensor processing unit in response to being powered on, the enumerating comprising communicating enumeration data to the sensor processing unit, the enumeration data comprising one or more of a sensor name, a sensor manufacturer name, a sensor serial number, a hardware version, a firmware version, and/or one or more sensor characteristics, the sensor controller further to monitor operation of the sensor and to provide sensor lifecycle information to the sensor processing unit over the lifecycle of the sensor.

A computer readable storage device having stored thereon instructions that when executed by one or more processors result in the following operations comprising:

• enumerate, by a sensor controller, a sensor to a sensor processing unit in response to being powered on, the enumerating comprising communicating enumeration data to the sensor processing unit, the enumeration data comprising one or more of a sensor name, a sensor manufacturer name, a sensor serial number, a hardware version, a firmware version, and/or one or more sensor characteristics;
• monitor, by the sensor controller, operation of the sensor;
• and
• provide, by the sensor controller, sensor lifecycle information to the sensor processing unit over the lifecycle of the sensor.

A system comprising:

• a sensor processing unit;
• and
• a sensor module comprising:
• a sensor, and
• a sensor controller to enumerate the sensor to a sensor processing unit in response to being powered on, the enumerating comprising communicating enumeration data to the sensor processing unit, the enumeration data comprising one or more of a sensor name, a sensor manufacturer name, a sensor serial number, a hardware version, a firmware version, and/or one or more sensor characteristics, the sensor controller further to monitor operation of the sensor and to provide sensor lifecycle information to the sensor processing unit over the lifecycle of the sensor.
