Abstract
A versatile flexible cleaning apparatus including a removable and reusable pad and a core having a central spine. The pad has an opening for insertion or removal of the core. A spacer provides support for the central spine. A connector is a two-part device attachable to a tool, such as the flexible cleaning apparatus, for the addition of a selected handle. A swivel having a locking feature is also attached to the connector. The connector allows for the tool to be quickly and easily converted from a handheld dusting apparatus to a floor mop.
Claims5
A dusting apparatus comprising a bendable support spine, having retaining a selected bent position, wherein the spine is configured to clean walls, floors, elevated items and to collect debris on flat surfaces, as well as to access areas underneath furniture and other items supported by a floor;
- a cylindrical core disposed around the bendable support spine;
- a cover disposed around the core, wherein the cover is of a material configured to collect and retain dust, and the cover has an opening for receiving or removing the core;
- and
- a plurality of snaps selectively positioned along the opening, wherein the plurality of snaps is configured to secure the cover onto the core.
An external adjustable connector base comprising:
- a U-shaped hub having an outside, an inside, a top, a near side, a far side, a length and a pair of holes, wherein each of the near side and the far side have an equal length, and the pair of holes is disposed along the length of the near side from the outside to the inside;
- at least one lip disposed to the outside of the U-shaped hub on the far side, wherein the at least one lip is disposed parallel to the length of the far side of the hub;
- a strong elastic band having a pair of ends, wherein each of the pair of ends is disposed in each of the pair of holes disposed in the hub to form a stretchable elastic band loop, wrappable around the outer circumference of a tool, and hookable onto the at least one lip, and thus configured to secure the tool to the inside of the hub;
- a swivel having a proximal section, a lockable pivot mechanism, a distal section, and a connector, wherein the proximal section is disposed to the outside of the top of the hub;
- wherein the lockable pivot mechanism of the swivel allows the distal section to swivel freely or to be locked in a selected position relative to the proximal section;
- wherein the distal section of the swivel has a pivot end and a distal end having a threaded connector, the pivot end proximal the pivot mechanism, and the distal end opposite the pivot end, wherein the threaded connector has internal female threads selectively engageable to a male threaded end of a handle.
