EVSE Cable Management System with ADA Assist

A method for managing the extension and retraction of an electrical cable and its EV connector for charging an electric vehicle comprising:

• positioning the EV connector at a height of approximately four feet or less;
• pressing a latch on the EV connector to start a motor which extends the electrical cable;
• and
• connecting the EV connector with a charging inlet of an electric vehicle.

A cable management system for a shuttle system for an overhead EVSE comprising:

• an elevated track system;
• an EVSE shuttle supporting a service cable with an EV connector attached to said service cable and having a controller and a motorized mechanism which retracts and extending said service cable, said EVSE shuttle engageable with said track system and moveable therealong;
• a power cable connecting said EVSE shuttle with a power source and said service cable being selectively electrically connected to said power cable;
• wherein said controller and motorized mechanism are actuatable in response to a switch on said EV connector to retract and extend said service cable with said EV connector;
• said service cable and connector being pullable at a pre-established height to position said shuttle at a selected position along said track system.
