Electronic device, method, and computer-readable recording medium

A method comprising:

• a detection step of detecting whether or not demonstration data is stored in an external storage medium connected to an external storage medium connection unit of an electronic device;
• and
• an operation mode control step of
• causing the electronic device to operate in a demonstration mode in a case where the demonstration data is stored in the external storage medium connected to the external storage medium connection unit, and
• causing the electronic device to operate in a normal mode in a case where the external storage medium is not connected to the external storage medium connection unit and no demonstration data is stored in the external storage medium connected to the external storage medium connection unit.

A computer-readable recording medium recording a program for causing a computer to function as

• an external storage medium connection unit to which an external storage medium is connected,
• a detection unit configured to detect whether or not demonstration data is stored in the external storage medium connected to the external storage medium connection unit, and
• an operation mode control unit configured to
• cause a device to operate in a demonstration mode in a case where the demonstration data is stored in the external storage medium connected to the external storage medium connection unit, and
• cause the device to operate in a normal mode in a case where the external storage medium is not connected to the external storage medium connection unit and no demonstration data is stored in the external storage medium connected to the external storage medium connection unit.
