Abstract
A nail set includes an elongated body having a longitudinal axis, and a tool member at least partially received within the elongated body. The tool member includes a first end portion having a first punch tool, a second end portion having a second punch tool that is different from the first punch tool, a pivot axis that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and a locking member. The locking member engages the elongated body to secure the tool member from rotating relative to the elongated body about the pivot axis. The tool member is movable along the longitudinal axis to disengage the locking member from the elongated body, and the tool member is rotatable about the pivot axis when the locking member disengages the elongated body.
Claims20
A nail set comprising:
- an elongated body having a longitudinal axis, a slot, and a detent recess;
- and
- a tool member at least partially received within the elongated body and movable between a first position and a second position, the tool member including
- a first end portion having a first punch tool,
- a second end portion having a second punch tool that is different from the first punch tool,
- a projection defining a pivot axis and being received within the slot,
- a first detent positioned between the projection and the first end portion along the longitudinal axis, and
- a second detent positioned between the projection and the second end portion along the longitudinal axis;
- wherein in the first position either the first detent or the second detent is positioned within the detent recess to secure the tool member relative to the elongated body, and
- wherein in the second position neither the first detent nor the second detent is received within the detent recess, the tool member being rotatable about the pivot axis in the second position.
A nail set comprising:
- an elongated body having a longitudinal axis;
- and
- a tool member at least partially received within the elongated body, the tool member including
- a first end portion having a first punch tool,
- a second end portion having a second punch tool that is different from the first punch tool,
- a pivot axis that is perpendicular to the longitudinal axis, and
- a locking member;
- wherein the locking member engages the elongated body to secure the tool member from rotating relative to the elongated body about the pivot axis, wherein the tool member is movable along the longitudinal axis to disengage the locking member from the elongated body, and wherein the tool member is rotatable about the pivot axis when the locking member disengages the elongated body.
A nail set comprising:
- an elongated body having a longitudinal axis and a slot;
- and
- a tool member at least partially received within the elongated body and movable between a first position and a second position, the tool member including
- a first end portion having a first punch tool,
- a second end portion having a second punch tool that is different from the first punch tool,
- a projection defining a pivot axis and being received within the slot,
- a first locking member positioned between the projection and the first end portion along the longitudinal axis, and
- a second locking member positioned between the projection and the second end portion along the longitudinal axis;
- wherein in the first position both the first locking member and the second locking member are positioned within the elongated body to secure the tool member relative to the elongated body, and
- wherein in the second position either the first locking member or the second locking member is positioned within elongated body and the other of the first locking member or the second locking member is positioned outside the elongated body, the tool member being free to rotate about the pivot axis when in the second position.
