Abstract
A knob assembly with a display that displays information such as power level and a timer time, and a cooking apparatus including a knob assembly are provided. The knob assembly may include a knob coupled to an adjustment shaft configured to adjust power level and a knob ring configured to surround a periphery of the knob, configured to be rotatable independent of the knob, and provided with a display. The display may be provided at the knob ring, and information may be displayed on the display so that a user may easily manipulate the knob assembly.
Claims21
A knob assembly, comprising:
- a front panel forming a front surface of a cooking appliance;
- a knob provided in front of the front panel and coupled to an adjustment shaft configured to adjust a power level of a power source;
- and
- a knob ring provided between the front panel and the knob and configured to surround a periphery of the knob, the knob ring configured to be rotatable independent of the knob;
- a knob ring encoder disposed behind the front panel configured to sense a rotation angle of the knob ring;
- and
- a display assembly provided at an outer circumferential surface of the knob ring to rotate with the knob ring and configured to display a timer time set through rotation of the knob ring,
- wherein the display assembly includes
- a display housing provided in the knob ring,
- a display provided in the display housing, and
- a finishing cap coupled with a front surface of the display housing to cover the display.
A knob assembly, comprising:
- a front panel forming a front a front surface of a cooking appliance;
- a rotatable knob provided in front of the front panel and configured to adjust a power level of a power source;
- and
- a knob ring that surrounds a periphery of the knob, configured to be rotatable independent of the knob;
- an electronic display that displays the power level and a timer time,
- wherein the knob ring includes a main body having an upper portion provided above the knob,
- wherein the electronic display includes a display housing provided in a recess at the upper portion of the main body and a finishing cap coupled to the display housing to cover the electronic display, and
- wherein the electronic display displays the power level based on manipulation of the knob and displays the timer time based on manipulation of the knob ring.
A cooking apparatus, comprising:
- a front panel forming a front a front surface of a cooking appliance;
- at least one knob provided in front of the front panel that adjusts a power level of at least one burner;
- at least one knob ring that surrounds the at least one knob and is rotatable independent of the at least one knob;
- and
- a display provided on the at least one knob ring and configured to display information of the cooking apparatus,
- wherein the at least one knob ring includes a main body having an upper portion provided above a corresponding knob,
- wherein the display includes a display housing provided in a recess at the upper portion of the main body and a finishing cap coupled to the display housing to cover the display, and
- wherein the display displays the information based on manipulation of the knob or knob ring.
