The disclosure includes a musical timing system that comprises a band leader body worn device. The band leader body worn device may include an accelerometer arranged and configured to track a motion and determine at least one of a rhythm and beat from a pattern. The band leader body worn device may also include a processor communicatively coupled to the accelerometer. The processor may be arranged and configured to determine timing information from the at least one of the rhythm and beat from the pattern. The band leader body worn device may also include a radio communicatively coupled to the processor. The radio may be arranged and configured to transmit the timing information to a group device.
