Abstract
A universal data management interface (UDMI) system includes a processing system generates a visual interface through which a user can access, manage, and manipulate data on plural different types of remote databases. The UDMI connects to multiple standard database management systems and to allow multiple users to access, manage, and manipulate data within each of the multiple standard database management systems. The UDMI also allows multiple virtual databases that reside in a single database to be available as a network service.
Claims20
A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing executable instructions that, in response to being executed, cause a server computing device to perform operations comprising:
- generating an interface to enable network access to a database;
- establishing a link via the database to a plurality of databases remote from the database, wherein the plurality of databases are accessible to the server computing device remotely via a network, and wherein the database comprises a plurality of tables;
- enabling access to the database via the link;
- requesting data via the link from the database through an interaction with a visual interface;
- receiving data from one or more of the plurality of databases;
- detecting parameters of a data structure;
- and
- loading the data in accordance with the data structure based on the detected parameters.
A method comprising:
- generating, by a server computing device, an interface to enable network access to a database;
- establishing, by the server computing device, a link via the database to a plurality of databases remote from the database, wherein the plurality of databases are accessible to the server computing device remotely via a network, and wherein the database comprises a plurality of tables;
- enabling, by the server computing device, access to the database via the link;
- requesting, by the server computing device, data via the link from the virtual database through an interaction with a visual interface;
- receiving, by the server computing device, data from one or more of the plurality of databases;
- detecting parameters of a data structure;
- and
- loading the received data in accordance with the data structure based on the detected parameters.
A server computing device, comprising:
- a memory;
- and
- a processor coupled to the memory, the processor configured to:
- generate an interface to enable network access to a database;
- establish a link via the database to a plurality of databases remote from the database, wherein the plurality of databases are accessible to the server computing device remotely via a network, and wherein the database comprises a plurality of tables;
- enable access to the database via the link;
- request data via the link from the database through an interaction with a visual interface;
- receive data from one or more of the plurality of databases;
- detect parameters of a data structure;
- and
- load the received data in accordance with the data structure based on the detected parameters.
