Abstract
A toner for electrophotography obtained by a method including: step 1: mixing a polyester and a polylactic acid at a temperature of 140° C. or higher and 200° C. or lower and subjecting the mixture to a transesterification reaction to provide a resin composition; and step 2: mixing the resin composition obtained in step 1 with a polyester which is identical to and/or different from the polyester of step 1, and a method for producing the toner. The toner for electrophotography of the present invention is suitably used in developing latent images formed in an electrophotographic method, an electrostatic recording method, an electrostatic printing method, or the like.
Claims19
A toner for electrophotography obtained by a method comprising:
- (1) mixing a polyester d a polylactic acid at a temperature of 140° C. or higher and 200° C. or lower and subjecting the mixture to a transesterification reaction to provide a resin composition;
- and
- (2) mixing the resin composition obtained from said (1) mixing with a polyester which is identical to or different from the polyester of said (1) mixing.
A method for producing a toner for electrophotography, comprises:
- (1) mixing a polyester and a polylactic acid at a temperature of 140° C. or higher and 200° C. or lower and subjecting the mixture to a transesterification reaction to provide a resin composition;
- and
- (2) mixing the resin composition obtained from said (1) mixing with a polyester which is identical to or different from the polyester of said (1) mixing, in a production of a toner for electrophotography.
A toner, comprising:
- a colorant;
- a resin composition comprising a copolymer that comprises units of a first polyester and units of a polylactic acid;
- and
- a second polyester, wherein
- the toner exhibits a low-temperature fusing ability of from 135 to 145° C., the low-temperature fusing ability being a lowest fusing temperature at which the temperature of a fusing roller applied to the toner on a substrate at which a ratio of optical densities before and after rubbing, after rubbing/before rubbing x 100, exceeds 90%.
