Disclosed herein are methods and compositions for treating or preventing Porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome (PRRS) infection in a subject.

A composition comprising an inactivated porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) associated with a nanoparticle, and an adjuvant, wherein the concentration of PRRSV prior to inactivation is from about 1×103 to about 1×107 TCID50.
