Abstract
A fixturing apparatus that includes a housing defining an interior space and having a trapezoidal cross-section, a first end, and an opposing second end, and is formed to include an aperture extending therethrough from the first end to said second end. The fixturing apparatus further comprises a flexible strap and a radio-frequency identification (RFID) chip to allow identifying and tracking the fixturing apparatus.

A RFID enhanced fixturing apparatus comprising:
- a housing defining an interior space and comprising a trapezoidal cross-section, a first end, and an opposing second end, and is formed to include an aperture extending therethrough from the first end to said second end;
- a first plurality of locking teeth disposed within said aperture;
- a second plurality of locking teeth disposed within said aperture;
- a flexible fabric strap comprising a first end attached to the housing, an opposing second end, and a pull tag attached to the second end;
- and
- a radio-frequency identification (RFID) chip coupled to the RFID enhanced fixturing apparatus.

A method to manufacture a RFID enhanced fixturing apparatus, comprising:
- forming a first assembly and a second assembly, wherein each assembly comprises a bottom, a first lip extending outwardly from said bottom, an opposing second lip extending outwardly from said bottom, a first side wall extending outwardly from said bottom and connecting a first end of said first lip and a first end of said second lip, a second side wall extending outwardly from said bottom and connecting a second end of said first lip and a second end of said second lip, and a plurality of locking teeth extending outwardly from said bottom, wherein said plurality of locking teeth are disposed between said first lip, said second lip, said first side, and said second side;
- forming a housing by attaching said first assembly to said second assembly;
- forming a flexible fabric strap having a first end and a second end by attaching a second end of a first segment of the flexible fabric strap to a first end of a second segment of the flexible fabric strap, wherein a first end of the first segment is attached to the housing and a second end of the second segment is attached to a pull tag;
- forming fixturing apparatus by attaching the first end of the flexible fabric strap to the housing;
- wherein:
- said first side wall comprises a first height where said first side wall connects to said first lip;
- said second side wall comprises said first height where said second side wall connects to said first lip;
- said first side wall comprises a second height where said first side wall connects to said second lip;
- said second side wall comprises said second height where said second side wall connects to said second lip;
- said first height is greater than said second height.
