A quantum dot (QD) light emitting diode, comprising:
- first and second electrodes facing each other;
- a QD emitting material layer between the first and second electrodes;
- and
- a semiconducting member acting as a hole transporting path in the QD emitting material layer.

A quantum dot (QD) display device having a light emitting diode, the diode comprising:
- an anode and a cathode facing each other;
- a quantum dot emitting material layer between the anode and the cathode;
- and
- a hole transporting enhancing member in the quantum dot emitting material layer, wherein the hole transporting enhancing member has a conduction band level between about −6.5 and about −5.0 eV.
