Abstract
Some embodiments provide a non-transitory machine-readable medium that stores a program. The program receives a set of queries for data from a dataset stored in a first database instance. The program further determines that a value calculated based on a set of metrics associated with processing the set of queries for data from the dataset stored in the first database instance exceeds a threshold value. In response to the determination, the program also replicates the dataset from the first database instance to a second database instance.
Claims20
A non-transitory machine-readable medium storing a program executable by at least one processing unit of a computing device, the program comprising sets of instructions for:
- receiving a set of queries for data from a dataset stored in a first database instance;
- determining that a value calculated based on a set of metrics associated with processing the set of queries for data from the dataset stored in the first database instance exceeds a threshold value;
- and
- in response to the determination, replicating the dataset from the first database instance to a second database instance.
A method comprising:
- receiving a set of queries for data from a dataset stored in a first database instance;
- determining that a value calculated based on a set of metrics associated with processing the set of queries for data from the dataset stored in the first database instance exceeds a threshold value;
- and
- in response to the determination, replicating the dataset from the first database instance to a second database instance.
A first computing system comprising:
- a set of processing units;
- and
- a non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions that when executed by at least one processing unit in the set of processing units cause the at least one processing unit to:
- receive a set of queries for data from a dataset stored in a first database instance;
- determine that a value calculated based on a set of metrics associated with processing the set of queries for data from the dataset stored in the first database instance exceeds a threshold value;
- and
- in response to the determination, replicate the dataset from the first database instance to a second database instance.
