Abstract
A method and apparatus are provided to rehabilitate and beautify cracked concrete surfaces by adding channels to the surface.

A method of decorating a concrete or cementitious surface having one or more preexisting fissure via formation of channels in the surface, comprising the steps of:
- positioning a machine over the surface, wherein the machine is configured to form the channels;
- determining placement positions for the channels in the surface;
- and
- forming channels in the surface with the machine, wherein after the step of forming channels, the surface comprises the channels and the one or more preexisting fissure.

A concrete or cementitious surface defined by a surface area comprised of:
- a plurality of preexisting fissures formed by an expansion or contraction of the surface area;
- a plurality of channels formed separately by a machine, wherein the channels are used to decorate the surface area.
A system for decorating a concrete or cementitious surface having one or more preexisting fissure, the system comprising:
- a machine, wherein the machine is configured to form channels in the surface;
- a detector for determining a location of the one or more preexisting fissure;
- a computer functionally coupled to the detector and configured to determine placement positions of the channels in the surface;
- a guide configured to direct the machine along the surface to form the channels in the surface based on the placement positions.
