A projector-sensor system for authoring an augmented reality application interface, the projector-sensor system comprising:
- at least one projection device configured to project imagery in a physical workspace;
- at least one sensing device configured to detect at least one first operator's movement in the physical workspace;
- and
- at least one processor configured to output, based at least in part on the at least one first operator's movement detected by the at least one sensing device, an augmented reality application interface specification, wherein:
- the at least one processor is configured to identify an object type based at least in part on an input received from the at least one first operator, the input indicating that a first object in the physical workspace is an instance of the object type to be identified;
- the projector-sensor system is a first projector-sensor system;
- the augmented reality application interface specification is capable of being rendered by a second projector-sensor system;
- and
- the augmented reality application interface specification is configured to cause the second projector-sensor system to present an augmented reality application interface to guide at least one second operator through a process, the process comprising manipulating a second object of the identified object type.
A method for authoring an augmented reality application interface, the method comprising acts of:
- causing at least one projection device of a projector-sensor system to project imagery in a physical workspace;
- causing at least one sensing device of the projector-sensor system to detect at least one first operator's movement in the physical workspace;
- and
- outputting, by at least one processor of the projector-sensor system, based at least in part on the at least one first operator's movement detected by the at least one sensing device, an augmented reality application interface specification, wherein:
- the method further comprises an act of identifying, by the at least one processor, an object type based at least in part on an input received from the at least one first operator, the input indicating that a first object in the physical workspace is an instance of the object type to be identified;
- the projector-sensor system is a first projector-sensor system;
- the augmented reality application interface specification is capable of being rendered by a second projector-sensor system;
- and
- the augmented reality application interface specification is configured to cause the second projector-sensor system to present an augmented reality application interface to guide at least one second operator through a process, the process comprising manipulating a second object of the identified object type.
At least one computer-readable storage medium having encoded thereon executable instructions that, when executed by at least one processor, cause the at least one processor to perform a method for authoring an augmented reality application interface, the method comprising acts of:
- causing at least one projection device of a projector-sensor system to project imagery in a physical workspace;
- causing at least one sensing device of the projector-sensor system to detect at least one first operator's movement in the physical workspace;
- and
- outputting, based at least in part on the at least one first operator's movement detected by the at least one sensing device, an augmented reality application interface specification, wherein:
- the method further comprises an act of identifying an object type based at least in part on an input received from the at least one first operator, the input indicating that a first object in the physical workspace is an instance of the object type to be identified;
- the projector-sensor system is a first projector-sensor system;
- the augmented reality application interface specification is capable of being rendered by a second projector-sensor system;
- and
- the augmented reality application interface specification is configured to cause the second projector-sensor system to present an augmented reality application interface to guide at least one second operator through a process, the process comprising manipulating a second object of the identified object type.
