Claims23
A recombinant microorganism comprising at least one artificial nucleic acid construct comprising:
- (a) a nucleic acid comprising a sequence encoding a lycopene ε-cyclase enzyme from Marchantia polymorpha;
- and
- (b) a nucleic acid comprising a sequence encoding a lycopene β-cyclase enzyme selected from a lycopene β-cyclase enzyme from Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, a lycopene β-cyclase enzyme from Chromochloris zofingiensis, and a combination thereof;
- wherein the nucleic acid sequences are operably linked to one or more expression control sequences.

A recombinant microorganism comprising at least one artificial nucleic acid construct comprising:
- a) a nucleic acid having a sequence encoding a lycopene cyclase enzyme;
- and
- b) a nucleic acid having a sequence encoding a β-carotene hydroxylase enzyme from Glycine max;
- wherein the nucleic acid sequences are operably linked to one or more expression control sequences.
