Abstract

A method for generating bitmap image data of a page includes acquiring print data of a page including compressed images, and performing rendering of bands included in the page based on the print data to generate the bitmap image data. The performing of the rendering performs rendering at least two of the bands concurrently. The performing of the rendering includes decompressing the compressed images, and using the decompressed images for corresponding bands of the bands to generate the bitmap image data. The decompressing decompresses, into a same memory area in a decompression buffer, at least two compressed images used for different bands, so that one of the two compressed images is decompressed into the same memory area and another of the two compressed images is decompressed, after rendering of a last band for which the one of the two compressed images is lastly used is finished, into the same memory area.

Dependent claims

A method for generating bitmap image data of a page, comprising:

acquiring print data of a page including compressed images;
and
performing rendering of a plurality of bands included in the page based on the acquired print data to generate the bitmap image data,
wherein the performing of the rendering performs rendering at least two of the plurality of bands concurrently,
wherein the performing of the rendering includes:
decompressing the compressed images into a decompression buffer;
and
using the decompressed images for corresponding bands of the plurality of bands to generate the bitmap image data, and
wherein the decompressing decompresses, into a same memory area in the decompression buffer, at least two compressed images which are used for different bands, so that one of the at least two compressed images is decompressed into the same memory area and another of the at least two compressed images is decompressed, after rendering of a last band for which the one of the at least two compressed images is lastly used is finished, into the same memory area.

An image processing apparatus, comprising:

a controller including at least one processor or a circuit,
wherein the controller functions as
a generation unit configured to generate intermediate data in a unit of page by converting print data, and
a rendering unit configured to perform rendering in parallel on bands which are smaller than a page based on the generated intermediate data so as to generate bitmap image data,
wherein the generation unit specifies, when the page includes a plurality of image objects corresponding to a plurality of compressed images, a same address as addresses of decompression buffers for decompression of the plurality of compressed images based on information on bands to which the plurality of compressed images belong such that one of the compressed images which is decompressed first is not updated by the other of the compressed images to be decompressed later,
wherein the rendering unit includes
a plurality of rendering processors which generate bitmap image data for respective bands to be processed, and
a decompression processor which sequentially decompresses the plurality of compressed images in the decompression buffer having the same specified address in response to a decompression instruction issued by one of the plurality of rendering processors, and
wherein the plurality of rendering processors generate bitmap image data corresponding to the respective bands to be processed using a result of the decompression.

An image processing method comprising:

generating intermediate data in a unit of page by converting print data and performing rendering in parallel on bands which are smaller than a page based on the generated intermediate data so as to generate bitmap image data,
wherein, in the generating, when the page includes a plurality of image objects corresponding to a plurality of compressed images, a same address is specified as addresses of decompression buffers for decompression of the plurality of compressed images based on information on bands to which the plurality of compressed images belong such that one of the compressed images which is decompressed first is not updated by the other of the compressed images to be decompressed later, and
wherein, in the rendering, the plurality of compressed images are sequentially decompressed by a decompression processor in the decompression buffer of the same specified address in response to a decompression instruction issued by one of a plurality of rendering processors which generate only bitmap image data corresponding to respective bands to be processed, and the plurality of rendering processors generate bitmap image data corresponding to the respective bands to be processed using a result of the decompression.
