Abstract
A process measurement display is disclosed that includes an indicator configured to change position to indicate a process variable. The display also includes an illumination source configured to provide light to the indicator. The display further includes a processor configured to control the illumination source to provide at least one additional output modality.

A process measurement display comprising:
- an indicator configured to change position to indicate a process variable;
- an illumination source configured to provide light to the indicator;
- and
- a processor configured to control the illumination source to provide at least one additional output modality.

- a measurement mechanism configured to provide an indication of a process measurement;
- a process variable output configured to display the indication of the process variable measurement;
- a status component configured to determine a process status, based on the indication of the process measurement;

- obtaining a measurement for a process sample;
- identifying a process parameter that corresponds to the process sample;
- analyzing the measurement to determine whether the measurement conforms with the process parameter;
- generating a device status indication, based on the analyzed measurement;

- providing an indication of the device status to a device display.
