Abstract
The disclosure relates to processing content with watermarks to generate watermarked versions. In some aspects, each version may be different. Groups of fragments may be combined to generate a unique stream by pulling fragments from two or more of the groups of fragments. Further, fragmenting may be performed before watermarking, and fragments may be pulled and watermarked upon request.

A method implemented by one or more computing devices, the method comprising:
- based on a number of actual or expected entities requesting content, determining, by at least one of the one or more computing devices, a number of watermarks to apply to the content;
- based on the determined number of watermarks to apply to the content, applying a plurality of watermarks to the content to generate a plurality of watermarked versions, respectively;
- accessing a plurality of fragments of the plurality of watermarked versions;
- and
- transmitting a subset of the plurality of fragments, wherein the subset forms a version of the content.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause one or more computing devices to:
- based on a number of actual or expected entities requesting content, determine a number of watermarks to apply to the content;
- based on the determined number of watermarks to apply to the content, apply a plurality of watermarks to the content to generate a plurality of watermarked versions, respectively;
- access a plurality of fragments of the plurality of watermarked versions;
- and
- transmit a subset of the plurality of fragments, wherein the subset forms a version of the content.
A method implemented by one or more computing devices, the method comprising:
- based on a number of actual or expected entities requesting content, determining, by at least one of the one or more computing devices, a number of a first plurality of watermarks to apply to the content;
- based on the determined number of the first plurality of watermarks, applying the first plurality of watermarks to the content to generate a first watermarked version;
- based on the number of actual or expected entities requesting content, determining, by the at least one of the one or more computing devices, a number of a second plurality of watermarks to apply to the content;
- based on the determined number of the second plurality of watermarks, applying the second plurality of watermarks to the content to generate a second watermarked version;
- accessing a first group of fragments generated by fragmentation of the first watermarked version;
- accessing a second group of fragments generated by fragmentation of the second watermarked version;
- and
- transmitting fragments, of the first group and the second group, that form the content.
A system comprising:
- one or more processors;
- and
- memory storing instructions that, when executed by the one or more processors, cause one or more computing devices to:
- based on a number of actual or expected entities requesting content, determine a number of a first plurality of watermarks to apply to the content;
- based on the determined number of the first plurality of watermarks, apply the first plurality of watermarks to the content to generate a first watermarked version;
- based on the number of actual or expected entities requesting content, determine a number of a second plurality of watermarks to apply to the content;
- based on the determined number of the second plurality of watermarks, apply the second plurality of watermarks to the content to generate a second watermarked version;
- access a first group of fragments generated by fragmentation of the first watermarked version;
- access a second group of fragments generated by fragmentation of the second watermarked version;
- and
- transmit fragments, of the first group and the second group, that form the content.
