A system including a treadmill assembly positioned within a cavity of a surrounding floor, the treadmill assembly having an upper surface defining a plane that is proximate to an upper surface of a surrounding floor and an edge assembly covering a portion of the cavity and positioned between the surrounding floor and the treadmill assembly.
