Abstract
Methods and systems for providing fluid resources are disclosed. A system or method may comprise developing an accurate fluid resource need that allows for expedited true up of fluid resource deliver from resource suppliers to a utility provider. The system and methods for delivering a fluid resource may include calculating a regression line based on fluid resource usage, and an associated temperature during the usage period, and a forecasted temperature for a future time period when the fluid resource will needed. The regression line may be used to obtain the amount fluid resource needed from resource suppliers for deliver by a utility provider to customers.

A system comprising:
- a temperature sensor;
- one or more fluid measurement meters configured to measure an amount of usage of a fluid resource;
- a supply controller comprising one or more processors configured to:
- receive fluid resource usage data from the one or more fluid measurement meters;
- determine, based on the received fluid resource usage data, an amount of fluid resource consumed by a plurality of customers associated with the one or more fluid measurement meters;
- determine an external resource supplier associated with each of the one or more fluid measurement meters;
- receive temperature data from the temperature sensor;
- calculate a regression line based on the determined amount of fluid resource consumed by plurality of consumers and the temperature data from the temperature sensor;
- obtain a forecasted temperature to be associated with the one or more fluid measurement meters;
- determine a predicted fluid resource need for a period of time for the one or more of fluid measurement meters based on the external resource supplier, the regression line, and the forecasted temperature;
- request the predicted fluid resource need for the period of time from the external resource supplier;
- and
- deliver the fluid resource to the one or more fluid measurement meters.
A method comprising:
- determining an amount of a fluid resource consumed by a customer;
- transmitting the amount of fluid resource consumed by the customer to an aggregation system, wherein the aggregation system is configured to receive the amount of fluid resource consumed by a plurality of customers;
- associating temperature data with the amount of fluid resource consumed by the customer;
- associating a forecasted temperature with the determined amount of fluid resource consumed;
- determining an amount of fluid resource to be delivered based on a regression line and the forecasted temperature, wherein the regression line is based on the amount of fluid resource consumed by the customer, a customer association with an external resource supplier, and the associated temperature data;
- and
- obtaining the amount of fluid resource to be delivered.
A system comprising:
- one or more gas meters configured to measure an amount of usage of gas;
- wherein gas comprises one or more of natural gas, propane, and liquefied petroleum gas;
- a supply interaction portal, the supply interaction portal being configured to communicate to an external resource supplier a predicted gas need for the one or more gas meters;
- a supply controller comprising one or more processors configured to:
- receive a measure of an amount of gas received from an external resource supplier;
- receive gas usage data from the one or more of one or more gas meters and a data collection repository;
- wherein the data collection repository is configured to store the gas usage data from the one or more gas meters;
- determine, based on the received gas usage data, an amount of gas consumed by a plurality of customers associated with the one or more gas meters for a first period of time, wherein the first period of time comprises a gas day;
- determine an external gas supplier associated with each of the one or more gas meters;
- determine a variance between the amount of gas consumed by a plurality of customers associated with the one or more gas meters and the amount of gas received from the external resource supplier;
- receive temperature data from a temperature sensor;
- determine a subgrouping of the one or more gas meters based on one or more of the external resource supplier, a supplier code, a reporting status of the one or more gas meters, and a customer class;
- wherein the supplier code is based on one or more of a building type, a building size, a building age, a build location, a building elevation, a construction type, a designed building use, a heating method, a cooling method, a general usage time period, a zoning designation, an internal area, an internal heated area, an internal cooled area, a temperature range a location may experience, a resource rate schedule, and a rate class;
- calculate a regression line based on an amount of gas consumed by the subgrouping of the one or more gas meters and the temperature data from the temperature sensor;
- obtain a forecasted temperature to be associated with the one or more gas meters;
- determine the predicted gas need for a second period of time for the one or more of fluid measurement meters based on the external resource supplier, the regression line of the subgrouping, the determined amount of gas consumed by a plurality of customers associated with the one or more gas meters and the amount of gas received from the external resource supplier, and the forecasted temperature;
- request the predicted gas need for the second period of time from the external resource supplier via the supply interaction portal;
- and
- deliver gas to the one or more gas meters based on customer need.
