Abstract
Various embodiments are generally directed to techniques for event driven scheduling in a welding or cutting system. Techniques described herein may include a computer-implemented method including determining, by a processor of a master node of a welding system, whether a condition have been met to transition to a next state. The processor of the master node may send a state transition request to one or more slave nodes of the welding system. The processor of the master node may wait for acknowledgement of completion of a task. The processor of the master node may further determine whether a new condition has been met to transition to a next state.

A computer-implemented method, comprising:
- determining, by a processor of a master node of a welding system, whether a condition has been met to transition to a next state;
- sending, by the processor of the master node, a state transition request to one or more slave nodes of the welding system;
- waiting, by the processor of the master node, for acknowledgement of completion of a task;
- and
- determining, by the processor of the master node, whether a new condition has been met to transition to a next state.
A computer-implemented method comprising:
- receiving, by a slave node of a welding system, a transition request from a master node;
- transitioning into a new state based on the transition request;
- applying one or more actions based upon the new state;
- and
- sending an acknowledgement to the master node that the one or more actions have been completed.
A welding system comprising a master node, wherein the system comprises at least one processor and at least one network interface, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- determine whether a condition has been met to transition to a next state;
- send a state transition request to one or more slave nodes of the welding system;
- wait for acknowledgement of completion of a task;
- and
- determine whether a new condition has been met to transition to a next state.
A welding system comprising a slave node, wherein the system comprises at least one processor and a network interface, wherein the at least one processor is configured to:
- receive a transition request from a master node;
- transition into a new state based on the transition request;
- apply one or more actions based upon the new state;
- and
- send an acknowledgement to the master node that the one or more actions have been completed.
An article including a computer program product embodied on a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions, that, when executed by one or more processors, performs the steps of:
- determining, by a processor of a master node of a welding system, whether a condition has been met to transition to a next state;
- sending a state transition request to one or more slave nodes of the welding system;
- waiting for acknowledgement of completion of a task;
- and
- determining whether a new condition has been met to transition to a next state.
An article including a computer program product embodied on a non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing instructions, that, when executed by one or more processors, performs the steps of:
- receiving, by a slave node of a welding system, a transition request from a master node;
- transitioning into a new state based on the transition request;
- applying one or more actions based upon the new state;
- and
- sending an acknowledgement to the master node that the one or more actions have been completed.
