Abstract
A method and apparatus include receiving a measurement configuration by higher layer signaling, where the higher layer signaling is above the physical layer. The measurement configuration includes at least information of frequency location of synchronization signals, a carrier frequency, and a maximum allowed measurement bandwidth. A measurement reference signal is then received based on the received measurement configuration, and a measurement based on the received measurement reference signal is performed.
Claims20
A method in a user equipment in a communication network, the method comprising:
- receiving a measurement configuration by higher layer signaling, where the higher layer signaling is above the physical layer;
- wherein the measurement configuration includes at least information of frequency location of synchronization signals, a carrier frequency, and a maximum allowed measurement bandwidth;
- receiving a measurement reference signal based on the received measurement configuration;
- and
- performing a measurement based on the received measurement reference signal.
A user equipment in a communication network, the user equipment comprising:
- a transceiver that receives a measurement configuration by higher layer signaling, where the higher layer signaling is above the physical layer, and a measurement reference signal based on the received measurement configuration, wherein the measurement configuration includes at least information of frequency location of synchronization signals, a carrier frequency, and a maximum allowed measurement bandwidth;
- and
- a controller that manages the operation of the user equipment.
