Abstract
A method of treating photo-induced ocular fatigue and associated reduction in speed of ocular focus in humans includes administering a therapeutic amount of a dietary supplement composition comprising a carrier admixed with carotenoids, which may include 0.5 to 8.0 mg of astaxanthin, 2.0 to 15 mg of lutein and 0.2 to 12.0 mg of zeaxanthin. The composition is formulated into an oral dosage form as a single dosage capsule.

A method of treating photo-induced ocular fatigue and associated reduction in speed of ocular focus in humans, which comprises administering a therapeutic amount of a dietary supplement composition comprising a carrier admixed with carotenoids consisting of 0.5 to 8.0 mg of astaxanthin, 2.0 to 15 mg of lutein and 0.2 to 12.0 mg of zeaxanthin, and wherein the composition is formulated into an oral dosage form as a single dosage capsule.
A method of treating photo-induced ocular fatigue and associated reduction in speed of ocular focus in humans, which comprises administering a therapeutic amount of a dietary supplement composition comprising 50 to 700 mg of a carrier, including at least one of a lipid and a fatty acid and admixed with carotenoids comprising 4.0 to 6.0 mg of astaxanthin derived from Haematococcus pluvialis (Hp), 10 to 12 mg of lutein and 1.0 to 2.5 mg of zeaxanthin, and wherein the composition is formulated into an oral dosage form as a single dosage capsule.
A method of treating photo-induced ocular fatigue and associated reduction in speed of ocular focus in humans, which comprises administering a therapeutic amount of a dietary supplement composition comprising 50 to 700 mg of a carrier, including at least one of a lipid and a fatty acid, and admixed with astaxanthin, lutein and trans-zeaxanthin, wherein the dietary supplement composition is formulated into a single dosage capsule, and wherein the astaxanthin is about 0.1 to 16, percent by weight of the at least one of the lipid and fatty acid, the lutein is about 0.4 to 30 percent by weight of the at least one of the lipid and fatty acid, and the trans-zeaxanthin is about 0.04 to 24 percent by weight of the carrier, including at least one of the lipid and fatty acid.
