## Abstract

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, are provided an application scheduler. Related apparatus, systems, methods, and articles are also described.

## Claims

### Claim 1

An apparatus comprising:
an application scheduler configured to at least monitor user plane traffic for a start of an application session, instantiate a buffer for a detected application session, and configure at least one service parameter at the buffer in accordance with a quality of service parameter and/or a quality of experience parameter.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the buffer provides additional buffering for a detected bottleneck at another network node.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the application scheduler provides congestion control by increasing or decreasing a rate of a scheduler comprising the buffer.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the increase is an additive increase.

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The apparatus of claim 3, wherein the decrease is a multiplicative decrease.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The apparatus of claim 1, wherein the application scheduler correlates uplink and downlink user plane traffic to enforce scheduling at the buffer in accordance with the quality of service parameter and/or the quality of experience parameter.

### Claim 7

An method comprising:
monitoring, by an application scheduler, user plane traffic for a start of an application session;
instantiating, by the application scheduler, a buffer for a detected application session; and
configuring, by the application scheduler, at least one service parameter at the buffer in accordance with a quality of service parameter and/or a quality of experience parameter.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7, wherein the buffer provides additional buffering for a detected bottleneck at another network node.

### Claim 9 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7 further comprising:
controlling, by the application scheduler, congestion by increasing or decreasing a rate of a scheduler comprising the buffer.

### Claim 10 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, wherein the increase is an additive increase.

### Claim 11 (depends on 9)

The method of claim 9, wherein the decrease is a multiplicative decrease.

### Claim 12 (depends on 7)

The method of claim 7 further comprising:
correlating, by the application scheduler uplink and downlink user plane traffic to enforce scheduling at the buffer in accordance with the quality of service parameter and/or the quality of experience parameter.

### Claim 13

A non-transitory computer-readable storage medium including program code which when executed by at least one processor causes operations comprising:
monitoring, by an application scheduler, user plane traffic for a start of an application session;
instantiating, by the application scheduler, a buffer for a detected application session; and
configuring, by the application scheduler, at least one service parameter at the buffer in accordance with a quality of service parameter and/or a quality of experience parameter.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 13, wherein the buffer provides additional buffering for a detected bottleneck at another network node.

### Claim 15 (depends on 13)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 further comprising:
controlling, by the application scheduler, congestion by increasing or decreasing a rate of a scheduler comprising the buffer.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the increase is an additive increase.

### Claim 17 (depends on 15)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the decrease is a multiplicative decrease.

### Claim 18 (depends on 13)

The non-transitory computer-readable storage medium of claim 13 further comprising:
correlating, by the application scheduler uplink and downlink user plane traffic to enforce scheduling at the buffer in accordance with the quality of service parameter and/or the quality of experience parameter.
