## Abstract

Systems and methods for evaluating a manufactured part to determine whether the shape of the manufactured part corresponds to an expected shape are described. A method to evaluate the manufactured part includes generating a point cloud of the manufactured part from measurement data relating to the manufactured part, generating a mesh including a plurality of nodes from the point cloud, and determining a normal vector slope, a local second order derivative, and a local third order derivative for each node. The normal vector slope, the local second order derivative, and the local third order derivative at each node provides an angle of curvature at a location on the manufactured part. The method further includes comparing the angle of curvature at the location on the manufactured part with reference data for a nominal part that is representative of one or more expected dimensions of the manufactured part.
