## Abstract

A tricuspid insufficiency treatment device includes a vena cava member (12) implantable in a vena cava of a patient. The vena cava member (12) is formed with a fenestration (14) and further includes a blocking member (16) arranged to block and unblock the fenestration (14).

## Claims

### Claim at position 1

-13. (canceled)

### Claim 14

A tricuspid insufficiency treatment device comprising:
a tubular member configured for implantation within a vena cava of a patient, the tubular member being formed with at least one fenestration in a side wall thereof; and
at least one blocking member arranged to block and unblock the at least one fenestration during ventricular systole and ventricular diastole, respectively,
wherein:
the tubular member and the at least one blocking member together form a closed cylindrical outer shape during ventricular systole.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The apparatus according to claim 14, wherein the tubular member comprises an expandable stent body.

### Claim 16 (depends on 14)

The apparatus according to claim 14, wherein the at least one blocking member comprises at least one flap or cover pivotably attached to a portion of the tubular member.

### Claim 17 (depends on 14)

The apparatus according to claim 14, wherein an opening formed between the at least one blocking member and the at least one fenestration during ventricular diastole faces in a direction of an orifice of a superior vena cava of the patient.

### Claim 18 (depends on 14)

The apparatus according to claim 14, wherein an opening formed between the at least one blocking member and the at least one fenestration during ventricular diastole faces in a direction of an orifice of an inferior vena cava of the patient.

### Claim 19 (depends on 14)

The apparatus according to claim 14, further comprising a plurality of blocking members corresponding to a plurality of fenestrations within a sidewall of the tubular member, wherein two or more of the blocking members face in a same direction and two or more of the blocking members face in different directions.

### Claim 20 (depends on 14)

The apparatus according to claim 14, further comprising a plurality of blocking members and a plurality of corresponding fenestrations arranged circumferentially at least partially around the vena cava member.

### Claim 21 (depends on 14)

The apparatus according to claim 14, wherein the vena cava member includes a plurality of barbs.

### Claim 22 (depends on 14)

The apparatus according to claim 14, wherein the at least one blocking member comprises reinforcing structure.

### Claim 23 (depends on 14)

The apparatus according to claim 14, wherein the tubular member includes diverging stent graft ends.

### Claim 24 (depends on 23)

The apparatus according to claim 23, wherein the diverging stent graft ends are at least partially covered by graft material.

### Claim 25 (depends on 14)

The apparatus of claim 14, wherein at least a first portion of a perimeter of the blocking member perimeter is attached to a corresponding first portion of a perimeter of the fenestration, such that the remainder of the perimeter of the blocking member is unattached to the remainder of the perimeter of the fenestration.

### Claim 26

A tricuspid insufficiency treatment device comprising:
a tubular member comprising an expandable stent body having diverging stent graft ends at least partially covered by graft material, the tubular member configured for implantation within a vena cava of a patient and formed with a single fenestration in a side wall thereof; and
a single blocking member comprising a flap or cover pivotally attached to the fenestration and arranged to block and unblock the fenestration during ventricular systole and ventricular diastole, respectively,
wherein:
at least a first portion of a perimeter of the blocking member is attached to a corresponding first portion of a perimeter of the fenestration such that the remainder of the perimeter of the blocking member is unattached to the remainder of the perimeter of the fenestration,
the blocking member is configured to allow blood to flow through the fenestration via an opening formed by the unattached perimeter of the blocking member relative to the remainder of the perimeter of the fenestration during ventricular diastole,
the opening faces in a direction of an orifice of an inferior vena cava of the patient, and
the tubular member and the at least one blocking member together form a closed cylindrical outer shape during ventricular systole.

### Claim 27 (depends on 16)

The apparatus according to claim 16, wherein the vena cava member includes a plurality of barbs.

### Claim 28 (depends on 16)

The apparatus according to claim 16, wherein the blocking member comprises a reinforced structure.
