An inner retention portion is defined by a plurality of laterally extending wires generally co-planar with the plurality of laterally extending wires of the peripheral portion. The inner retention portion includes a retention border adapted to removably engage the drip tray. A drip tray is configured to removably engage the retention border, thereby securing the drip tray laterally. One of a searing pan and a cooking stone is configured to be received in the drip tray. ## Claims ### Claim 1 A cooking assembly comprising: a grill rack including: a peripheral portion defined by a plurality of laterally extending wires bound by a peripheral frame; and an inner retention portion defined by a plurality of laterally extending wires generally co-planar with the plurality of laterally extending wires of the peripheral portion, the inner retention portion including a retention border; a drip tray configured to removably engage the retention border, thereby securing the drip tray laterally; and one of a searing pan and a cooking stone configured to be received in the drip tray. ### Claim 2 (depends on 1) The cooking assembly of claim 1, further comprising: a temperature gauge disposed on the searing pan. ### Claim 3 (depends on 1) The cooking assembly of claim 1, further comprising: a lid configured to enclose a top portion of the searing pan. ### Claim 4 (depends on 3) The cooking assembly of claim 3, wherein the lid is constructed from an at least partially translucent polymeric material. ### Claim 5 (depends on 1) The cooking assembly of claim 1, wherein the searing pan includes an open matrix of drip openings. ### Claim 6 (depends on 1) The cooking assembly of claim 1, wherein at least one of the cooking stone and the searing pan includes handle apertures proximate handles of the drip tray. ### Claim 7 (depends on 1) The cooking assembly of claim 1, further comprising: feet configured to engage an outside edge of at least one corner of the retention border. ### Claim 8 A cooking assembly comprising: a grill rack including: a peripheral portion defined by a plurality of laterally extending wires bound by a peripheral frame; and an inner retention portion defined by a plurality of laterally extending wires generally co-planar with the plurality of laterally extending wires of the peripheral portion, the inner retention portion including a retention border adapted to removably engage the drip tray; a drip tray configured to removably engage the retention border, thereby securing the drip tray laterally; and a searing pan removably coupled with the drip tray and including a temperature gauge. ### Claim 9 (depends on 8) The cooking assembly of claim 8, further comprising: a temperature gauge disposed on the searing pan. ### Claim 10 (depends on 8) The cooking assembly of claim 8, further comprising: a lid configured to enclose a top portion of the searing pan. ### Claim 11 (depends on 10) The cooking assembly of claim 10, wherein the lid is constructed from an at least partially translucent polymeric material. ### Claim 12 (depends on 8) The cooking assembly of claim 8, wherein the searing pan includes an open matrix of drip openings. ### Claim 13 (depends on 8) The cooking assembly of claim 8, wherein at least one of a cooking stone and the searing pan includes handle apertures proximate handles of the drip tray. ### Claim 14 (depends on 8) The cooking assembly of claim 8, further comprising: feet configured to engage an outside edge of at least one corner of the retention border. ### Claim 15 A cooking assembly comprising: a grill rack including a predefined retention portion; a drip tray configured to engage the predefined retention portion, thereby securing the drip tray laterally; and one of a searing pan and a cooking stone configured to be received in the drip tray. ### Claim 16 (depends on 15) The cooking assembly of claim 15, further comprising: a temperature gauge disposed on the searing pan. ### Claim 17 (depends on 15) The cooking assembly of claim 15, further comprising: a lid configured to enclose a top portion of the searing pan. ### Claim 18 (depends on 17) The cooking assembly of claim 17, wherein the lid is constructed from an at least partially translucent polymeric material. ### Claim 19 (depends on 15) The cooking assembly of claim 15, wherein the searing pan includes an open matrix of drip openings. ### Claim 20 (depends on 15) The cooking assembly of claim 15, wherein at least one of the cooking stone and the searing pan includes handle apertures proximate handles of the drip tray.
