Abstract
A first device in accordance with an example is placed in a predefined mode in response to removing a near field communication (NFC) tag from an NFC component of the first device. A request is received from a second device to establish a connection with the first device based on data stored on the NFC tag. The first device establishes the connection with the second device and executes the predefined mode.
Claims13
A computing device comprising:
- a near field communication (NFC) component;
- a NFC tag including connection data;
- and
- a controller to:
- place the computing device in a first operating mode when the NFC tag is connected to the NFC component,
- place the computing device in a second operating mode when the NFC tag is not connected to the NFC component, and
- enable a wireless connection between the computing device and a host device when the computing device is in the second operating mode.

A method comprising:
- in response to connection of a near field communication (NFC) tag to a NFC component of a device, activating the execution of an instruction with a processor, a first operating mode of the device;
- in response to disconnection of the NFC tag from the NFC component, activating, by executing an instruction with the processor, a second operating mode, and
- in response to the activation of the second operating mode, establishing a wireless connection between the device and a host device.
A computer-readable memory comprising instructions that, when executed cause a computing device to at least:
- activate a first operational mode when a near field communication (NFC) tag is connected to an NFC component of the computing device;
- in response to detecting disconnection of the NFC tag from the NFC component, activate a second operational mode;
- in response to a request for a wireless connection from a host device, establish a wireless connection between the computing device and the host device while the computing device is in the second operational mode;
- and
- in response to detecting connection of the NFC tag to the NFC component, activate the first operational mode.
