Initial Access Channel for Scalable Wireless Mobile Communication Networks

A method, comprising:

• generating, by a transmitter apparatus, signaling for at least a synchronization channel, wherein the synchronization channel comprises a primary synchronization channel and a secondary synchronization channel, wherein the primary synchronization channel is modulated by at least one primary synchronization sequence, and wherein the at least one primary synchronization sequence is a sequence selected from a set of two or more possible primary synchronization sequences common to multiple cells of a wireless communications system;
• and
• transmitting, by the transmitter apparatus, via an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) wireless communication system having a system bandwidth, at least the signaling for the synchronization channel.

A non-transitory computer-readable medium having instructions stored thereon that are executable by a computing device to perform operations comprising:

• generating signaling for at least a synchronization channel, wherein the synchronization channel comprises a primary synchronization channel and a secondary synchronization channel, wherein the primary synchronization channel is modulated by at least one primary synchronization sequence, and wherein the at least one primary synchronization sequence is a sequence selected from a set of two or more possible primary synchronization sequences common to multiple cells of a wireless communications system;
• and
• transmitting via an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) wireless communication system having a system bandwidth, at least the signaling for the synchronization channel.
