Abstract
A display system replacing a side mirror includes: a camera unit including cameras provided on both side surfaces of a vehicle and obtaining a rear-view image; a display unit outputting the rear-view image obtained by the camera unit; a driving condition detector detecting a driving condition of the vehicle; and a controller controlling output brightness of the display unit on the basis of the driving condition of the vehicle.
Claims19
A display system replacing a side mirror, the display system comprising:
- a plurality of cameras provided on both side surfaces of a vehicle and obtaining a rear-view image;
- a display displaying the rear-view image obtained by the cameras;
- a driving condition detector detecting a driving condition of the vehicle;
- and
- a controller controlling output brightness of the display based on the driving condition of the vehicle.
A method for controlling output brightness of a display system replacing a side mirror, the method comprising:
- obtaining a rear-view image from a camera provided on both side surfaces of a vehicle;
- detecting, by a driving condition detector, a driving condition of the vehicle;
- determining, by a controller, output brightness of a display unit on the basis of the driving condition of the vehicle;
- and
- displaying, by a display, the rear-view image with the determined output brightness.
