Image display device and method of displaying image

An image display device comprising:

• an image display unit including:
• a first pixel having sub-pixels including
• a first sub-pixel having a first color,
• a second sub-pixel having a second color, and
• a third sub-pixel having a third color,
• wherein the first color, the second color, the third color are included in a first color gamut that includes white;
• and
• a second pixel having sub-pixels including
• a fourth sub-pixel having a fourth color,
• a fifth sub-pixel having a fifth color,
• a sixth sub-pixel having a sixth color,
• wherein the fourth color, the fifth color,
• the sixth color are included in a second color gamut that includes white and that is different from the first color gamut, and
• a processing unit that is configured to determine an output of each of the subpixels in the first pixel and the second pixel based on an input image signal,
• wherein
• the first pixel and the second pixel are adjacent to each other, and
• the processing unit is configured to:
• receive the input image signal corresponding to the first color, the second color, and the third color as an input signal for the first pixel,
• receive the input image signal corresponding to the first color, the second color, and the third color as an input signal for the second pixel, and
• determine the output of each of the sub-pixels in the second pixel according to the input image signal for the first pixel and the input image signal for the second pixel.
