Abstract
Disclosed are techniques that use mixed reality, e.g., augmented reality and virtual reality technologies to improve analysis of security situations. The techniques allow a guard (or other user in a facility) to observe persons in a facility and determine merely by looking at such persons through a mixed reality device whether those persons are authorized to be in the facility or not, irrespective of whether those persons are required or not required to publically display some credentials, such as a badge or the like.
Claims15
A system comprises:
- detectors that detect presence of r.f. emitters in a facility that provide indications of valid authorizing devices;
- one or more server systems configured to:
- receive video of persons within a field of view of camera;
- process the received video to determine information that identifies persons in the field of view;
- determine those identified persons that are sending signals to the detectors signals indicating that they are in possession of a valid authorizing device;
- determine whether those identified are authorized persons or not authorized persons;
- and
- cause a mixed reality device to render an indicium according to whether the video of persons within the field of view of the mixed reality device are authorized or unauthorized.
A method comprises:
- receiving by a server system an assertion of an alarm condition from a security system at a facility, with the security system processing sensor signals from sensors and triggering the alarm condition;
- sending by the server, system messages to determined nearby sensors to either turn on and start sending data back to the server;
- sending by the server system, queries to the sensors for sensor data according to the alarm condition;
- receiving by the server system, video from cameras at the facility;
- analyzing by the server system, sensor data received from the sensors, the analysis including a verification of the alarm condition, a determination of additional sensors to query for additional data, and a determination of which of selected data received from selected sensors to forward to one or more mixed reality devices;
- and
- forwarding by the server system, data to one or more mixed reality devices, with the data forwarded being determined in part based on the analysis performed by the one or more server systems with at least one of the mixed reality devices including a processor device, memory in communication with the processor device and a head mounted display device including a stereoscopic 3D display.
A computer program product tangible stored on one or more computer readable hardware storage devices, the computer program product for controlling one or more server systems that interact with a security system and one or more mixed reality systems, the computer program product comprising executable instructions to cause the one or more server systems to:
- receive an assertion of an alarm condition from a security system that processes sensor signals from sensors and that triggers the alarm condition;
- send messages to determined nearby sensors to start sending data back to the servers;
- send queries to the sensors for sensor data according to the alarm condition;
- analyze sensor data received in response to the sent queries, the analysis including a verification of the alarm condition and a determination of data to forward to one or more mixed reality devices;
- and
- forward data to one or more mixed reality devices, with the data forwarded being determined in part based on the analysis performed by the one or more server systems.
