Abstract
A memory clean up mechanism may dynamically calculate the amount of free memory required and then identify a list of unused applications that may be automatically deleted to reach the required free memory.
Claims20
A mobile device comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory coupled with the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:
- receiving a notification of an update of a first application;
- determining an anticipated amount of memory allocated for the update of the first application;
- determining a list of a plurality of applications based on information, the information comprising last use in a period;
- determining a used memory for each application of the plurality of applications;
- providing a list of the used memory for a first subset of the plurality of applications;
- and
- receiving a selection of a second subset of the first subset, wherein the second subset has an amount of memory totaling greater than or equal to the anticipated amount of memory allocated for the update of the first application.

A method comprising:
- receiving, by a mobile device, a notification of an update of a first application;
- determining, by the mobile device, an anticipated amount of memory allocated for the update of the first application;
- determining, by the mobile device, a list of a plurality of applications based on information, the information comprising last use in a period;
- determining, by the mobile device, a used memory for each application of the plurality of applications;
- providing, by the mobile device, a list of the used memory for a first subset of the plurality of applications;
- and
- receiving, by the mobile device, a selection of a second subset of the first subset, wherein the second subset has amount of memory totaling greater than or equal to the anticipated amount of memory allocated for the update of the first application.

A computer readable storage medium comprising computer executable instructions that when executed by a computing device cause said computing device to effectuate operations comprising:
- receiving, by a device, a notification of an update of a first application;
- determining, by the device, an anticipated amount of memory allocated for the update of the first application;
- determining, by the device, a list of a plurality of applications based on information, the information comprising last use in a period;
- determining, by the device, a used memory for each application of the plurality of applications;
- providing, by the device, a list of the used memory for a first subset of the plurality of applications;
- and
- receiving, by the device, a selection of a second subset of the first subset, wherein the second subset has amount of memory totaling greater than or equal to the anticipated amount of memory allocated for the update of the first application.
