Abstract
Certain examples of apparatus for applying fluid in a printing system are described. The apparatus comprise a first chamber having a first aperture extending along a first axis, and a second chamber having a second aperture extending along a second axis, wherein the first axis is substantially parallel to the second axis. The second chamber is movable with respect to the first chamber. Also, methods for supplying a fluid, and printing systems are described.
Claims15
An apparatus to apply a fluid in a printing system comprising:
- a first chamber arranged to receive the fluid, the first chamber comprising a first housing, and a first elongate aperture extending along a first axis to discharge the fluid,
- a second chamber arranged to receive the fluid, the second chamber comprising a second housing, and a second elongate aperture extending along a second axis to discharge the fluid, wherein
- the first axis is substantially parallel to the second axis, and wherein
- the second chamber is movable with respect to the first chamber.
A method for supplying a fluid to a transfer member in a printing system including a first fixed chamber having a first slit, and a second movable chamber having a second slit, the first and second chambers being substantially parallel to each other, and the method comprising:
- supplying the fluid to the first and second chambers;
- supplying the fluid through the first slit and second slit to the transfer member;
- determining a width of a print medium;
- and
- positioning the second chamber with respect to the first chamber to adjust a width over which fluid is supplied to the width of the print medium.
