Abstract
An additively manufactured component has a plurality of overlapping layers bonded to each other. The plurality of overlapping layers includes at least a first subset of layers, and at least one layer of the at least a first subset of layers includes adjacent tracks bonded to each other. At least one of the adjacent tracks has a tool path pattern that is encoded with information.
Claims20
An additively manufactured component, comprising a plurality of overlapping layers bonded to each other, wherein:
- the plurality of overlapping layers includes at least a first subset of layers;
- at least one layer of the at least a first subset of layers includes adjacent tracks bonded to each other;
- and
- at least one of the adjacent tracks has a tool path pattern that is encoded with information.
A computer-readable storage medium having data stored thereon representing a three-dimensional model suitable for additively manufacturing a component comprising a plurality of overlapping layers bonded to each other, wherein:
- the plurality of overlapping layers includes at least a first subset of layers;
- at least one layer of the at least a first subset of layers includes adjacent tracks bonded to each other;
- and
- at least one of the adjacent tracks has a tool path pattern that is encoded with information.
A method for manufacturing a component, comprising:
- providing a computer-readable three-dimensional model of the component, the computer-readable three-dimensional model being configured to be converted into a plurality of slices that define a plurality of overlapping layers of the component;
- and
- successively forming each of the plurality of overlapping layers of the component by additive manufacturing,
- wherein:
- the plurality of overlapping layers includes at least a first subset of layers;
- at least one layer of the at least a first subset of layers includes adjacent tracks bonded to each other;
- and
- at least one of the adjacent tracks has a tool path pattern that is encoded with information.
