Abstract
A fire suppression composition includes starch, a pseudo-plastic, high yield, suspending agent, paraffin or olefin, and a neutralizer.

A fire suppression composition that can be added to anaqueous material to form a suspension, the composition comprising:
- a starch;
- a pseudoplastic, high yield, a polyacrylate suspending agent;
- a hydrophobic agglomerating material;
- and an amount of a neutralizer to obtain a pH of 5.0 to 8.0 in the suspension, wherein the suspension is biodegradable and the composition and is neither corrosive nor non-toxic and the composition is free of a clay.

A fire suppression composition that can be added to anaqueous material to form a suspension, the composition consisting of:
- a starch;
- a polyacrylate pseudoplastic, high yield, a suspending agent;
- an alkene hydrophobic agglomerating material;
- and an amount of a neutralizer to obtain a pH of 5.0 to 8.0 in the suspension, wherein the suspension is biodegradable, is neither corrosive nor non-toxic and is free of clay.
