Abstract
A composition for reducing damage associated with oxidative phosphorylation. The composition comprises an upregulating compound mixture configured to upregulate an endogenous antioxidant system, an exogenous antioxidant mixture configured to inhibit oxidation of biomolecules by reactive oxygen species, and a mineral mixture configured to provide one or more cofactors to a endogenous antioxidant enzyme. The endogenous antioxidant system includes a Nrf2 transcription factors that promotes transcription of antioxidant genes.
Claims20
A composition for reducing damage associated with oxidative phosphorylation, the composition comprising:
- an upregulating compound configured to upregulate an endogenous antioxidant system;
- an exogenous antioxidant;
- and
- a cofactor of an endogenous antioxidant system.
A nutritional supplement for reducing damage associated with oxidative phosphorylation, the supplement comprising:
- a first vehicle comprising an upregulating compound mixture configured to upregulate an endogenous antioxidant system and an exogenous antioxidant mixture.
A method for manufacturing a nutritional supplement for reducing damage associated with oxidative phosphorylation, the method comprising:
- combining a first vehicle comprising an upregulating compound mixture and an exogenous antioxidant mixture, with a second vehicle comprising a mineral mixture,
- wherein the upregulating compound mixture is configured to upregulate an endogenous antioxidant system to reduce damage associated with oxidative phosphorylation,
- wherein the exogenous antioxidant mixture is configured to inhibit the oxidation of biomolecules by reactive oxygen species, and
- wherein the mineral mixture is configured to provide one or more cofactors to a endogenous antioxidant enzyme.
A method for manufacturing a composition for reducing damage associated with oxidative phosphorylation, the method comprising:
- preparing a first vehicle by blending an upregulating compound mixture with an exogenous antioxidant;
- and
- preparing a second vehicle by blending a mineral mixture.
A kit comprising:
- a nutritional supplement comprising a first vehicle and a second vehicle, wherein the first vehicle comprises an upregulating compound mixture configured to upregulate an endogenous antioxidant system and an exogenous antioxidant mixture and wherein the second vehicle comprises a mineral mixture;
- and
- a container.
