Measuring and monitoring skin feature colors, form and size

A method comprising:

• attaching a calibrator comprising a plurality of color areas onto a skin area next to a skin feature;
• capturing at least one image of the skin area, which includes both the skin feature and at least a part of the calibrator;
• deriving, from the at least one captured image, an image normalization function from a comparison between captured calibrator colors and the selected calibrator colors;
• and
• applying the image normalization function to the captured skin feature to yield normalized colors of the skin feature.

A diagnostic system comprising:

• at least one calibrator having a plurality of selected colors, the calibrator attachable onto a skin area next to a skin feature and the colors selected according to a medical condition;
• an imaging device configured to capture at least one image of at least part of the skin feature and at least part of the at least one calibrator;
• and
• an analysis module configured to derive, from the at least one image, an image normalization function from a comparison between captured calibrator colors and the selected calibrator colors, and to apply the image normalization function to the captured skin feature to yield normalized colors of the skin feature.
