Abstract
An article of footwear that produces an audio component for a performance includes a rigid heel assembly that attaches to the article of footwear. The rigid heel assembly has a cavity with an open end. The cavity houses an audio transmission assembly that includes a transmitter. A microphone converts the audio component of the performance into a digital audio signal and is operatively connected to the audio transmission assembly which wirelessly transmits the digital audio signal of the audio of the performance.
Claims20
An article of footwear that produces an audio component for a performance comprising:
- an rigid heel assembly attached to the article of footwear;
- a cavity within the rigid heel assembly having an open end;
- an audio transmission assembly, comprising a transmitter disposed within the cavity;
- a microphone to convert the audio component of the performance into a digital audio signal and operatively connected to the audio transmission assembly;
- wherein the transmitter wirelessly transmits the digital audio signal of the audio of the performance.
An article of footwear that produces an audio component for a performance comprising:
- an rigid heel assembly attached to the article of footwear;
- a cavity within the rigid heel assembly having an open end;
- an end cap couples to the rigid heel assembly and covers the open end of the cavity;
- a microphone retainer that extends from the end cap towards a toe portion of the article of footwear;
- a microphone to convert the audio component of the performance into a digital audio signal, the microphone being secured in the microphone retainer;
- a transmitter disposed within the cavity and transmits the digital audio signal of the audio component of the performance;
- and
- a power source disposed within the cavity and adapted to provide power to the microphone and the transmitter,
- wherein the microphone retainer angles the microphone at an angle between about 20° and 70° off horizontal.
A storage and recharging rack for storing and recharging a plurality of articles of footwear, the storage and recharging apparatus comprising:
- a frame;
- a plurality of compartments attached to the frame, each compartment storing a single article of footwear;
- a plurality of recharging plugs that engage with the articles of footwear to recharge a power source attached to the article of footwear, each recharging plug is associated with a single compartment that stores the single article of footwear.
